SB16 Shoebox Lights

SARIN LED Shoebox Lights are commonly used to replace high-pressure sodium and metal halide lights to provide energy savings of up to 70%. These area lights are safe for outdoor use and are protected from rain, snow, and weak jets of water, such as sprinklers.

SARIN SB16 Shoebox Lights are perfect for stadiums, parks, billboards, parking lots, and office buildings. An optional photocell sensor allows the light to automatically activate at night. This fixture turns on and off instantly without flickering or humming. The lens has a glare-reduction composition that softens the light and makes it more uniform and safe to
the eye.

Bullhorns

To further customize your lighting layout, we offer durable bullhorn mounting options in 2-, 3-, and 4-head configurations. These mounts allow multiple fixtures to be installed on a single pole, improving light distribution and uniformity across large areas. Each bullhorn is engineered to integrate seamlessly with our poles while maintaining structural integrity and wind-load compliance.

Tenon Mounts

Tenon mounts are simple mounting adapters used to securely attach light fixtures to the top of a light pole. They ensure the fixture fits properly, sits at the correct height and angle, and remains stable in outdoor conditions. By using standard tenon sizes, these mounts make it easy to install new lights on existing poles or configure multiple fixtures from a single pole.

Safety Meets Energy Savings

LED Parking Lot Lights Increase Safety

LED parking lot lighting enhances safety by improving visibility, deterring crime, and reducing accidents. Bright, uniform LED illumination helps lower theft and vandalism, improves security camera performance, and minimizes slip-and-fall risks, especially in gas stations and high-traffic areas.1,2

Energy Savings: Key Financial and Operational Benefits:

In addition to safety benefits, LED parking lot lights cut energy use by up to 75% compared to HID or metal halide fixtures. Their 10–25× longer lifespan reduces maintenance costs, while available utility rebates help offset upfront investment and speed ROI.

Key Guidelines for Wind Safety

figureF.2-1

Light pole wind ratings are determined by comparing the local design wind speed with the pole’s structural characteristics and its Effective Projected Area (EPA) — the combined surface area of the pole, fixtures, arms, and accessories that is exposed to wind. Wind zones in the U.S. are typically defined by AASHTO/ASCE standards, with common design speeds ranging from about 90 MPH to well over 170 MPH depending on location. Taller poles and higher EPAs require stronger materials or thicker wall gauges (e.g., 7-gauge vs. 11-gauge steel), as they experience greater wind loads and need to maintain structural safety.

Manufacturers provide wind rating charts that show the maximum allowable wind speed and EPA for specific pole heights and materials, helping you match the right pole to your project’s conditions. To select an appropriate pole, determine the design wind speed for your site, calculate the total EPA of your fixtures and accessories, and then choose a pole model whose wind rating and EPA limits meet or exceed those requirements. These charts also reflect how changes in height, shape, and wall thickness influence a pole’s resistance to wind forces.

We offer three standard pole heights designed to meet a wide range of project requirements while complying with, and exceeding, recommended ASCE structural and wind-load standards. Each option is engineered for strength, stability, and long-term performance, ensuring your lighting system delivers reliable support and code-compliant safety across varying site conditions.

By sourcing both the lights and the poles from Sarin Energy, you streamline procurement, ensure compatibility, and deliver a cohesive lighting system that enhances safety, visibility, and curb appeal across the entire property.

If you’re planning an upcoming parking lot or site lighting project, we’d love to help you spec a complete solution.
